Advertising is dead. Long live information. The consumer is in charge, give them what they want. What they want is Information. Give the consumer Information, about your product, about your service, about what you provide. They found you because they were looking for something . Respect their time and that they are looking at you for information. People become empowered when your information, give them good information and you empower them. Empowerment leads to encouragement. Encouragement leads to trust. People choose who they trust. Does your client trust you? If you informed and encouraged you have the start of that relationship. Stop Advertising (shouting to the world you are here) and start Informing, Empowering and Encouraging.

Content and Context

In Video production the user must understand the content (what is being delivered) and the context (the medium in which it is being delivered). The content should be prepared with the intention of informing the viewer. The consumer of today does not wish to be “advertised to”. They will however allow themselves to be informed, educated, and entertained while searching for information of their choice.

The context of the delivery represents the format in which the viewer will receive and view the message. In this aspect it is important to consider where the viewer is going to see your product. Informational presentations need to be designed to fit the medium in which they are presented.
